Council to prepare for Settlement Readiness
Published 28 January
Beverley and Holderness Council is establishing a new Settlement Readiness Directorate to coordinate a whole-Council response to anticipated changes from January 2026.
The Directorate will ensure that the Council is prepared for expected changes in the settlement status of residents, and will provide a single point of coordination across service areas. It will report directly to the interim Chief Executive.
A Council spokesperson said the move reflected "prudent forward planning" and a commitment to "being ready for change, whatever form it takes". The Directorate's initial work will include a readiness assessment, a stakeholder mapping exercise, and the development of a Settlement Readiness Strategy, which will be brought forward for consultation in due course.
The Council said further detail would be published "once the position is clearer".
