Before submitting a planning application, you can get formal written advice from a planning officer on the likely acceptability of your proposal, the information you will need to submit, and the policies against which your application will be assessed.
What is included
- A written assessment of your proposal against the Local Plan and material planning considerations
- Identification of the technical reports and supporting documents your application will need
- A meeting with a named planning officer, in person or by video call
- A formal written response within 20 working days
Fee
The fee for pre-application advice on a householder or minor development proposal is £1,850. Fees for major developments are calculated individually and quoted on request.
How to request pre-application advice
Contact the Planning service with a description of your site and proposal, and payment will be requested before advice is provided.
