Why prevention matters

Nationally, for every £1 the NHS spends on treating illness, it spends around 2p on prevention. The public health grant, which funds programmes such as Eat Well Beverley, has been reduced by approximately 26% in real terms since 2015/16. The Council remains committed to expanding preventative public health work within the resources available.

The practical cooking and community kitchen element of Eat Well Beverley awaits capital funding.
